Treat challenges as opportunities

A growth mindset starts with the belief that abilities can develop through learning and experience. A difficult task can become an opportunity to explore a new approach, rather than a judgement of what you can do today.

Pay attention to the process as well as the result. Enjoying what you learn makes each experience valuable, even when progress is slower than you expected.

Learn well, and stay open

Learning quickly is not always the same as learning well. Be willing to make mistakes, consider other perspectives, and keep your core values in view. Setbacks can show where your understanding still needs to develop.

Constructive criticism offers another starting point. When someone identifies a weakness, consider how you could work on it instead of treating the feedback as a final verdict.

Keep the next step in sight

After reaching a milestone, choose your next objective. Growth is an ongoing process that asks for patience, persistence, and a willingness to keep learning over time.
